Encinitas’ City Council has approved a temporary road name change in honor of Leonard Nimoy.

The “Spock Block” proclamation will take place on Nimoy’s birthday, March 26.

William Shatner is in his eighties, an age when most people have retired, but he is still working and that work includes attending many Star Trek conventions.

It took a book and then a film documentary for Shatner to get why people attend Trek conventions.

Original Enterprise Inserted Into Movie Shots

Fans of the USS Enterprise seen in the original series can now see eight shots of the classic ship inserted into scenes from the various Star Trek movies.

The photos were created by Nick Acosta, a professional illustrator and concept artist.

March-April 2015 Trek Conventions And Appearances

There will be thirty-three conventions, shows or appearances in March and April that will feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

March begins with the Armageddon Expo, which will take place March 7-8 at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch, New Zealand. In attendance at Armageddon Expo will be Karl Urban, Armin Shimerman, and Kitty Swink.

Star Trek-Themed Van Sold

Several weeks ago, a unique Star Trek-themed 1978 GMC G15 van was listed for sale for almost $10,000 on Craigslist, and today comes word that the van has been sold.

In 1980, the van’s original owner had the van painted with Trek images by Toronto artist Gordon S. Roy.

Rumor Mill: Trek in Universal?

One of the future replacements for the Shrek 4D attraction at Universal might be Trek-related.

This wouldn’t be in the near future though as Universal’s contract with DreamWorks Animation was extended to maintain the Shrek 4D attraction.
