Trek Parody To Debut This Summer

Where No Man Has Gone Before – the Unauthorized Star Trek Parody Musical will premiere in Washington, D.C. this June.

Written by Clara Hoch and Eva Thorpe, and directed by Hoch, the musical parody is based on the original series episode of the same name.

Star Trek Into Darkness App Announced

A new Star Trek into Darkness app will be released at the end of January.

The app will “deliver exclusive content and advanced real world game experiences,” and fans watching this year’s Superbowl will be able to unlock content during a Star Trek into Darkness Superbowl ad.

January-February 2013 Star Trek Conventions And Appearances

There will be eleven conventions, shows or appearances in January and February that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

Now that the holidays are over, its time to think about Star Trek conventions again. Starting off the year will be The Hollywood Show, which be held January 11-13 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport. In attendance at The Hollywood Show will be Deep Space Nine‘s Louise Fletcher, Christopher McDonald (Lt. Richard Castillo – Yesterday’s Enterprise), William Schallert (Nilz Baris – The Trouble with Tribbles) and Celeste Yarnall (Yeoman Martha Landon – The Apple).

The Return of Ensign Sue!

Back in 2010, Ensign Sue Must Die, one of the funniest Star Trek comics to ever be published, kept fans entertained for weeks, and now a sequel to the adventures of the annoying ensign is currently running.

The first webcomic series featured Ensign Sue (Mary Amethyst Star Enoby Aiko Archer Picard Janeway Sue to be exact), a young medical officer who arrived on the USS Enterprise and drove Kirk and crew (J.J. Abrams version) crazy.

Sew Trek

Trek Fan Loses Battle With Cancer

A Star Trek fan with terminal cancer who had been granted his wish to see Star Trek into Darkness has passed away.

Daniel Craft‘s wish to see the movie had been posted by his friend on Reddit, and the wish eventually made its way to J.J. Abrams, who made a rough cut of the movie available for Dan and his wife Paige to see.

USS Enterprise Will Live On!

For fans saddened by the deactivation of the USS Enterprise (CVN 65), take heart, a new USS Enterprise will sail the seas!

The good news was delivered by Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, in a video played at the deactivation ceremony.

December 2012-January 2013 Star Trek Conventions

There will be two conventions, shows or appearances in December and January that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from three of the televised series and one of the Star Trek movies.

The only convention in December is the Steel City Con, to be held from December 7-9 at the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Pa. In attendance at Steel City Con will be Dwight Schultz and Alan Ruck (Captain Harriman).

Starting off 2013 is The Hollywood Show, to be held January 11-13 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport. In attendance at The Hollywood Show will be DS9‘s Louise Fletcher, Christopher McDonald (Lt. Richard Castillo – Yesterday’s Enterprise), and Celeste Yarnall (Yeoman Martha Landon – The Apple).

A typical Star Trek: The Next Generation convention cast photo op turned out to be anything but typical when a Trek fan unexpectedly popped the question to his girlfriend.

During the Austin Wizard World Convention, which took place at the end of October, Wil Wheaton was present and described what happened. “I had the flu,” he said, “and almost missed this photo session…I sat there and smiled for everyone as best I could.”

WeLoveFine Trek Shirt Winning Designs

November begins with Central Canada Comic Con, which will be held Nov 2-4 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, In attendance will be Sir Patrick Stewart and Walter Koenig.

Vulcan For The Next Generation

Vulcan, Alberta, Canada is looking to rebrand itself in hopes of keeping the next generation from leaving the small prairie town.

Trek Fans Break Costume World Record

Star Trek fans showed up in costume at a Star Trek convention last weekend to help break the world’s record for largest-ever gathering of people in Star Trek-related costumes.

It was only two months ago in Las Vegas that fans gathered in costume and broke the last record, but it appears that the Destination Star Trek London fans have surpassed that number.

New Paramount Theme Park To Open In England

A deal between Paramount Pictures and a group of developers may result in a new Paramount theme park not far from London, England.

London Resort Co. Holdings has signed the deal which would include Paramount-owned films such as Mission: Impossible, Paranormal Activity and Star Trek, but not Transformers, as the rights to Transformers belong to Hasbro.

There will be eleven conventions or appearances in October, beginning with Away Mission: Orlando, which will be held from Oct 5-7 at the Hilton Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista. In attendance at Away Mission: Orlando will be Avery Brooks, Dwight Schultz, Robert Duncan McNeill, Robin Curtis and Eric Menyuk.
