Star Trek: The Exhibition At Kennedy Space Center

The dates for Star Trek: The Exhibition at Kennedy Space Center have been announced.

From June 11 through September 5, those living in or near Florida will be able to experience Star Trek: The Exhibition for themselves, in The Exhibition‘s first appearance in the southeastern part of the U.S.

Hallmark Returns to Comic-Con 2011

Hallmark will be at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, which runs from July 20-24.

“We are excited to participate in Comic-Con for the fourth year,” said Beth Dorr, associate merchandise manager for Keepsake Ornaments. “The convention gives us a great opportunity to meet and interact with some of our most passionate fans and reward them with exclusive opportunities and sneak peeks.”

EMS Exhibits Acquires Trek Exhibition Rights

EMS Exhibits, Inc., producer of exhibitions developing, building and promoting themed blockbuster exhibits for Museums, Theme Parks, Shopping Malls, Entertainment Groups and Independent Promoters, has been granted the licensing rights to Star Trek: The Exhibition.

Star Trek is not the first television show exhibition with which EMS Exhibits has been associated. CSI: The Experience is a traveling exhibition which is currently in Wichita, Kansas.

Con Of Wrath Documentary In Progress

Back in 1982, an ambitious Star Trek convention set to take place in Houston, Texas, ran into major problems but L.A. stars, vendors and fans did their best to make the best of a bad situation.

Star Trek author-historian Larry Nemecek has announced “The Con of Wrath,” the story of that hot weekend in June when the Ultimate Fantasy proved to be anything but.

May-June 2011 Conventions

There will be twelve conventions, shows or appearances in May and June that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

May begins with the Motor City Comic Con 2011 which will be held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan (Metro Detroit) from May 13-15. In attendance will be: Brent Spiner, George Takei, Kate Mulgrew and Lee Arenberg.

Convention Beat – Shore Leave In July

Shore Leave 33 will be held July 8-10, 2011 at the Marriott Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Maryland with Star Trek actors and Trek novelists in attendance.

Hosted by STAT (The Star Trek Association of Towson, Inc.), the fan-run Shore Leave is one of the oldest and largest fan-run science fiction conventions in the country.

Star Trek Items In New Auction

March-April 2011 Star Trek Conventions

There will be six conventions, shows or appearances in March and April that feature Trek actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

March kicks off with The Official Star Trek Convention: The Celebration of the 45th Anniversary. This convention will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport from March 11-13, and features plenty of guests of interest to Trek fans. In attendance will be: Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols, Gwynyth Walsh, Barbara March, Connor Trinneer, Nana Visitor, Dominic Keating, Grace Lee Whitney, Rene Auberjonois, Eric Menyuk (Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s The Traveler) and Richard Arnold.

There will be plenty of events at the Official Star Trek Convention, including an optional photography seminar with Leonard Nimoy, and a special performance by Rene Auberjonois and Nana Visitor in a play.

Also in March will be MegaCon 2011 which will be held March 25-27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. In attendance at MegaCon 2011 will be: William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes, Michael Dorn, Robin Curtis and Marina Sirtis.

Two Australian Supanova Pop Culture Expos will start off the month of April. Brisbane 2011 will be held from April 1-3 at the RNA Showgrounds and Melbourne 2011 will be held from April 8-10 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Guests of interests to Trek fans include Star Trek XI‘s Simon Pegg, and Christopher Lloyd.

On April 9, the two-day The Official Star Trek Convention: The Celebration of the 45th Anniversary will be held in Phoenix, Arizona at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel. In attendance will be: J.G. Hertzler, Max Grodenchik, Robert O’Reilly, Armin Shimerman, Gwynyth Walsh, Barbara March, Jeffrey Combs, Casey Biggs, and Vaughn Armstrong.

Events include an optional Star Trek “Rat Pack” performance by Grodenchik, Armstrong, Combs, Biggs and Shimerman; Breakfast with the Klingons, an on-stage makeup workshop, and a costume parade.

Wrapping up the month of April will be the Wizard World Anaheim Comic Con will be held April 29-May 1 at the Anaheim Convention Center. In attendance will be Robert Picardo, Chase Masterson, John de Lancie, Catherine Hicks, and Lee Arenberg.

Star Trek UFP Gamer Magazine

The Winter 2011 issue of The Herald, an online magazine created by The United Federation of Planets, an online community of Star Trek gamers, features interviews with Star Trek: Online‘s lead developer Dan Stahl and a developer of RPG-X, a mod for the Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force game.

In the interview with Stahl, UFP gamers were able to have their questions about the future of Star Trek: Online answered.

Star Trek: The Exhibition Debuts In Louisville Sunday

Star Trek: The Exhibition will open at the Louisville Science Center in Kentucky on Sunday, January 23.

A special event, Science With a Twist: An Evening Aboard The Enterprise, will be held for fans the night before the opening at 7 PM, with Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager’s EMH) making a special appearance.

Moldly Going

A Star Trek-themed apartment battled a mold and fungus war which was caused by heat and humidity from another tenant’s apartment.

Trek fan Tony Alleyne had been fighting the unexplained mold and fungus without success until the police paid a visit to the apartment directly below his. “I had no idea what was causing it,” he said, “but there was mold in the bathroom and the transporter. It was a nightmare.”

WizardWorld’s New Orleans Comic Con starts out the year. Held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from January 29-30, one Star Trek guest of interest will be in attendance, Walter Koenig from the original series.
