There will be five conventions, shows or appearances in February and March that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from four of the televised series.
February begins with Ithacon, which will be held at the Women’s Community Building in Ithaca, N.Y. on February 4. In attendance at Ithacon will be Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s J.G. Hertzler.

Neither bankruptcy nor a fungal attack could stop Star Trek fan Tony Alleyne from making his dream of having a Star Trek Voyager-themed flat come true, but a divorce will force him to turn that apartment back into a conventional one.
Alleyne took several years and spent £30,000 to turn his apartment into a Star Trek Voyager-themed residence, which featured “a computer console, flashing lights and ‘transporters.’”

For those attending the annual Spock Days this June, several familiar Trek names will be in attendance.
Spock Days is held once a year in Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, and this year, the event will run from June 8-10 and feature five Trek-related guests.

Airing tomorrow, November 30, on the Science Channel at 8 PM, Trek Nation, produced and narrated by Rod Roddenberry, is a documentary about Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek, and the people involved with Star Trek over the years.
In making Trek Nation, Rod Roddenberry interviewed those who worked with his father over the years, including industry professionals who knew Gene Roddenberry, family friends, and Star Trek fans.

IDW and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) have announced a Star Trek “Be a Redshirt” contest.
Usually, “being a redshirt” on the original series was apt to be hazardous, and while the same will hold true for the redshirt in this contest, there is a prize that makes it worth the inevitable phaser blast.

For fans attending the New York Comic-Con, which begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday at the Javits Center in Manhattan, there were be plenty of Star Trek licensees in attendance showing off their products, plus several guests affiliated with the franchise.
The products to be shown include books, action figures, Bluetooth headsets, ornaments and busts.

For fans who like Trek talk, IGN has started a new Star Trek-only podcast, Transporter Room 3, and the first half-hour episode covers topics from the first two televised series.
Transporter Room 3 is “not for the weak of heart” or for “anyone who is afraid of seriously obsessive geek-out sessions.” Indeed, in the first episode, one of the topics is “Which Riker do you prefer – transporter accident Tom Riker or bushy-bearded alternate universe ‘The Borg are everywhere!’ Riker.”
Other topics in this first podcast include William Shatner’s The Captains documentary and the forthcoming Blu-ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

There will be nine conventions, shows or appearances in October and November that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.
October will start off with The Official Star Trek Convention, which will take place from today-October 2, and will be held at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. In attendance will be: Leonard Nimoy, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Nichelle Nichols, John de Lancie, Dominic Keating, Connor Trinneer, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and Arlene Martel.

For those who didn’t get the chance to see Star Trek: The Exhibition while it was at Kennedy Space Center this summer, there is still time to do so.
Kennedy Space Center announced that Star Trek: The Exhibition, originally slated to end on September 5, has been extended and will now run through the end of October.
