Shore Leave 37 Convention

It’s summertime and that means that the Shore Leave Convention is almost here.

This year’s Shore Leave 37 convention will take place August 7-9 at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

There will be seventeen conventions, shows or appearances in July and August that will feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

July begins with the Montreal Comiccon to be held July 3-5 at the Palais des Congres in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In attendance at Montreal Comiccon will be Jeffrey Combs, Ron Perlman, and Garrett Wang.


San Diego Comic-Con Guide

San Diego Comic-Con is fast approaching, and Star Trek fans will find plenty of interest at the yearly event.

This year’s Comic-Con is being held July 9-12.


Spock Documentary Close To Funding Goal

Adam Nimoy‘s documentary on his father, For the Love of Spock, has raised much of the money necessary for the movie but more is needed to hit the goal of $600,000 before the fundraiser expires on July 1.

The documentary will only be created if the entire amount is funded.


San Diego Comic-Con Star Trek Uglydolls

Star Trek fans attending this year’s San Diego Comic-Con will be able to purchase two new Star Trek Uglydolls.

The two new dolls join five others that made their debuts earlier this year.


Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage Adds More Dates

Two more cities have been added to the Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage tour.

The cities include New York and Boston.


Trek Superfan Asked to Pitch Trek Show

A fan who has worked on a Star Trek series concept for two decades has been asked to pitch said show to Paramount.

The fan is Michael Gummelt, and the series is Star Trek Uncharted.


Super-Fan Builds Tackles Trek

A Star Trek “super-fan” was the recipient of a Trek-themed computer desk and chair courtesy of Tim Baker and Super-Fan Builds.

Super-Fan Builds, a webseries, features Baker and a team of prop designers who create “mind-blowing tributes to beloved shows, movies, and videogames.”

The techniques used include “lifecasting, sculpting, mold-making, and casting.”

A new Kickstarter campaign has been launched to raise money for a documentary about Leonard Nimoy.

The documentary, announced earlier this year, will be titled For the Love of Spock.

The large model, which dominates his one-bedroom apartment is made of cardboard and plastic.

They also kept one on X-Files, Roswell, Dark Skies, and The Lawnmower Man.
