On Sunday, February 16 on EPIX, an all-day tribute to Star Trek will feature the premiere of Star Trek into Darkness, commentary by Leonard Nimoy and George Takei, and a Nimoy special presentation.

The fun begins at 6 AM with The Captains Close-Up: William Shatner, and includes several original series movies, several Shatner documentaries, the Nimoy special presentation, Trekkies and Star Trek into Darkness.

Unbelievable – Sci Fi Parody

A new science fiction parody, Unbelievable!!!!, features many familiar Star Trek names.

Unbelievable!!!! “is an homage and parody of B-rated Science Fiction movies of the 1950′s and 1960′s. The dialogue is intentionally stilted and wooden as are the special effects. The sets, costumes and props are all purposefully of makeshift quality. However, the plot is solid and propels the characters through the entire story as though it has a serious intent or statement.”

Stewart: Bye Bye Jade Rabbit

In a short clip seen on last night’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Next Generation‘s Patrick Stewart dressed up as the doomed Chinese moon rover Jade Rabbit.

The moon rover Jade Rabbit, launched by China in December, suffered an unexpected technical malfunction and is expected to “die” early.

Cumberbatch To Guest Star on Sesame Street

PBS has announced that Star Trek into DarknessBenedict Cumberbatch will be paying a visit to the children’s show Sesame Street.

According to a tweet from PBS, Cumberbatch will “[shed] the serious Sherlock to share some laughs with these two [Murray Monster and The Count).”

Zachary Quinto and Anton Yelchin were seen on a commercial which aired during yesterday’s Super Bowl broadcast.

The commercial was for the Xfinity X1 entertainment operating system, which “integrates the largest collection of video with social media features, interactive apps, web content and more in one easy-to-navigate, sleek viewing experience.”

Nimoy Addresses Concerns About His Health

A senior citizen in a wheelchair at a large airport usually doesn’t merit a second glance, but when it was Leonard Nimoy and he was seen using oxygen, Star Trek fans took notice.

The actor was being wheeled through a New York airport on Monday when the photos were taken and fans expressed their concern regarding his use of oxygen after seeing the photos.

The Line is a thriller written by Sang Kyu Kim, and directed by David Gordon Green.

In The Line, Pine will portray a “border patrol agent who, after recently losing his wife and child, goes on the run with a boy whose family was recently killed by the cartel. He soon finds out both sides of the law have their sights on him and the boy.”
