Cumberbatch Designs Paddington Bear

Benedict Cumberbatch was one of half a dozen Paddington actors who have recently designed life-sized statues of the Paddington Bear.

The Paddington statues are being done ahead of the release of Paddington in the UK later this month.

Cumberbatch An Award Nominee

Benedict Cumberbatch has been nominated for a British award.

The nomination is for an award to be given out at the 17th annual Moet British Independent Film Awards.

“Created in 1998 by Raindance founder Elliot Grove, The British Independent Film Awards set out to celebrate merit and achievement in independently funded British filmmaking, to honor new talent, and to promote British filmmaking and British talent to a wider public.”

Cumberbatch is up for an award in the Best Actor category, for his work in The Imitation Game where he plays Alan Turing. Cumberbatch’s competition in the Best Actor category include: Asa Butterfield (X+Y), Brendan Gleeson (Calvary), Jack O’Connell (’71), and Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner).

The award winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on December 7.

Two Trek Actors In Green Room

Several weeks ago, TrekToday reported that Anton Yelchin had signed on to the indie thriller Green Room, and now another Trek actor will be appearing in the movie.

Sir Patrick Stewart also has a role in Green Room, which is currently filming.

Truth is based on Mary Mapes‘ memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power. Mapes was Dan Rather’s producer.

Colm Meaney‘s AMC series Hell on Wheels is in its fourth season, and Meaney explains what it’s like to play Financier and Railroad Promoter Thomas Durant (1820-1885).

Hell on Wheels is “centered on the lawless town known as ‘Hell on Wheels,’ which travels with the western end of the Union Pacific Railroad. The series explores the railroad’s greed and corruption, the immigrant experience and the plight of the newly emancipated African-Americans.”

Trek Screenwriter Washington D.C. Appearance
