First Look: Star Trek XI Movie Adaptation 2

On Wednesday, March 17, IDW Publishing’s Star Trek Movie Adaptation issue #2 will arrive in stores.
Written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Tim Jones and Mike Johnson; with artwork (and cover) by David Messina, this second issue of the Star Trek XI movie adaptation includes some cut scenes.

Two new Star Trek XI tie-in books aimed at young adults are scheduled for release on November 16, 2010.
The trade paperback-sized books, to cost $7.99, are the initial offerings in what promises to be a series of books, set in Starfleet Academy.

IDW Publishing’s Star Trek XI movie adaptation comic mini-series will arrive in stores on Wednesday.
The adaptation of last year’s Star Trek movie will include deleted scenes, a preview of which can be seen at io9, as well as brand-new material.

2010 Updated Star Trek Book Schedule

The revised Pocket Book book release schedule fills the gap left from the removal of four Star Trek XI tie-in books.
In place of the four Star Trek XI tie-in books, some reprints will be offered instead, including two S.C.E. collections of stories.

The most recent catalog from Simon and Schuster provided synopses and black-and-white tentative covers for four forthcoming Star Trek novels set in the J.J. Abrams universe.
The novels are: Refugees, by Alan Dean Foster; Seek a Newer World, by Christopher L. Bennett; More Beautiful Than Death, by David Mack; and The Hazard of Concealing, by Greg Cox.

Ellison Star Trek Lawsuit Settled

Harlan Ellison is satisfied with the settlement of his lawsuit against Paramount.
Ellison filed suit against Paramount and the Writers Guild of America in March, looking for an accounting and payment from merchandising, publishing and other exploitations of his famous teleplay, The City on the Edge of Forever.

The four books are: Unspoken Truth, Inception, Seven Deadly Sins and To Thine Own Self.
