Yeoh To Join Star Trek: Discovery? – UPDATED

1 min read

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon‘s Michelle Yeoh is said to be joining Star Trek: Discovery.

This news comes courtesy of Consulting Producer Nicholas Meyer.

“I know Michelle Yeoh is in it,” said Meyer during promotion of his 1979 sci-fi classic Time After Time, which was released on Blu-Ray last week.

Yeoh returned as Yu Shu Lien for the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel  called Sword of Destiny. She was also seen recently as Lotus in Netflix’s Marco Polo series.

It’s possible Yeoh will play the lead; said to be female and a Lieutenant Commander.

Treat this as rumor until it’s confirmed officially. A Twitter account for Nicholas Meyer’s dog though, had the following tweet earlier this evening, “Meoh.”

Star Trek: Discovery beams onto CBS All Access in May 2017.

UPDATE:  According to Deadline, sources close to the production told them that “Yeoh actually will be the leader of another ship. We hear that Yeoh has been cast as Han Bo and her ship is the Shenzhou. The Yeoh-run spacecraft is set to play a big role in Discovery‘s first season.”
