For those wondering about what will happen with the character of Chekov in Star Trek 4, J.J. Abrams has provided an answer.
“I would say there’s no replacing him,” said Abrams. “There’s no recasting. I can’t possibly imagine that, and I think Anton deserves better.”
So will the character transfer off the ship, or will he meet his demise in Star Trek 4? “I have thought about it,” said Abrams. “We’re working on it, and it’s too early to talk about it.”
