Trek Actor Globe Nominees

Several Star Trek actors were nominated for 2016 Golden Globe awards.

Sir Patrick Stewart was nominated for an award in the Actor in a TV series (comedy) category for his work on Blunt Talk.

“I am so overjoyed by my @goldenglobes nomination,” said Stewart, via his Twitter account. “I decided to coordinate my look today. #aquasocks.”

Stewart is currently in Jamaica.

Idris Elba, soon to be seen in Star Trek Beyond, was nominated for his work in Beasts of No Nation. He is up for the Actor in a supporting role in a motion picture category.

Elba is also up for the Actor in a TV movie or limited series award for his work in Luther.

The 73rd Golden Globe Ceremony will take place January 10 and will be aired on NBC.

  1. Was Blunt Talk actually *seen* by anybody?nnOther than a mention here, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it being talked about anywhere. Not that I pay much attention to the mass media…but still.

  2. The picture of Patrick Stewart is so small that I can’t see it very well, but unless it was Photoshopped, he looks AMAZING for 75! I hope that means he’ll be active until he’s at least as old as Shatner.

  3. I saw him do Improvised Shakespeare (surprise show!) in L.A. and I could not believe how spry that “old” man is. Up and down, in and out of the audience, all over the stage. Crazy.
