Newhart And Wheaton On Big Bang Theory

1 min read

Next month, Wil Wheaton and Bob Newhart will appear on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Newhart will reprise his role of Arthur (Professor Proton), appearing to Sheldon as “a ghostly Jedi in Sheldon’s dreams in a bid to help him sort out his feelings and make a ‘very important’ decision.”

Arthur died back in Season Seven but “he can live on in Sheldon’s conscience forever,” said BBT Showrunner Steve Molaro.

Wheaton will be appearing in the same episode. “Tomorrow, I start a few days on an episode that also features Bob Newhart,” he said, via WilWheaton.net. “Holy shit, I can’t believe that I get to meet Bob Newhart! I’m going to do my best not to go all ‘When I Met Henry Rollins‘ on him, but I will say that there’s a non-zero chance that, in the future, I’ll be doing a bit in my stand-up set that’s Bob Newhart’s agent taking a call from him about meeting a nerd who was embarrassingly excited to be there and made it really weird.”

The Newhart/Wheaton episode will air Thursday, December 17, on CBS.

  1. I always enjoy when either of them are on the show. Looking forward to seeing them both!

  2. Marking the following Saturday on my calendar since this episode will be preempted by Thursday Night Football where I live. :X :X :X

  3. It’s great how many Trek alums get to be seen on a popular show. I can’t stand the series, but I’m always glad to see Trek vets get good work.
