Star Trek Encyclopedia Update

1 min read

In the days before Memory Alpha, fans turned to the Star Trek Encyclopedia: A Reference Guide for the Future when they had a Star Trek question.

Now comes word that encyclopedia will be updated, which will mean new information will be included from Star Trek: Voyager Season Four through the recent J.J. Abrams movies.

Star Trek Encyclopedia: A Reference Guide for the Future will be written by Michael and Denise Okuda, and will “include a completely new design, illustrations and exhaustively researched and detailed entries on the characters, ships and events from the last fifteen years of Star Trek television shows and movies.”

There is enough information that the encyclopedia will need to be released as a two-volume hardcover set that will come in a slipcase. The estimated cost for the two-volume set will be $99.00.

  1. I have all three existing editions of the Encyclopedia, so I am very pleased to read this. I hope it is published in the UK and is not too expensive. Thanks to Michael & Denise Okuda for their ongoing work on this, along with the others who have helped them.
I wonder if this means there is renewed hope for a possible Voyager tech manual?

  2. Good news, I own the earlier edition in soft cover and I’m glad they’re updating this. But $99? Wow.

  3. Kang applauds all the hard work the Okudas have done over the years. Kang is proud to own a signed first edition, no matter how outdated it is.

  4. If this sells well, I’d love to see a new Chronology! Now that the Prime timeline is done with, it would be cool to have a “complete” chronology of that!
