While Sir Patrick Stewart won’t be returning in the next X-Men movie, don’t rule him out for the next Wolverine movie.

Stewart confirmed that it was “very unlikely that [he] would be in the next X-Men movie, which is almost getting ready to start shooting in Montreal.”

But then, Stewart said that he was in talks about appearing in a Wolverine movie. “And what I’m very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together,” he said. “Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of X-Men from the four movies that I’ve already done.”

The new Wolverine movie will be released March 3, 2017.

  1. Tragic that we will never see him as Picard again, whilst Paramount tries to flog us a half-assed parody of Trek.
