Golden Globes Nomination

A Star Trek into Darkness guest star was nominated this morning for a Golden Globe Award.

Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for his work in The Imitation Game.

The Golden Globes are given out yearly by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The 72nd Golden Globe Awards, honoring the best in film and television for 2014, will be presented on January 11, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Cumberbatch was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama award. He is in competition with Steve Carell (Foxcatcher), Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler), David Oyelowo (Selma), and Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything).

The Imitation Game is also up for four other awards, nominated for Best Original Score – Motion Picture, Best Screenplay – Motion Picture, Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and Best Motion Picture, Drama.
