De Lancie Narrates Seuss Book

Oberlin Music has announced the release of a CD version of Dr. Seuss’ The Sneetches, a symphonic poem for narrator and symphony orchestra, narrated by John de Lancie.

The Sneetches is a story about prejudice and bigotry, where the Sneetches with stars on their bellies believe that they’re superior to those without the stars.

The Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) mission will “explore Mars’ climate history and gather clues about the question scientists have been asking for decades.”

Anthony Montgomery fans waiting for the release of his latest film, Chariot, can purchase a DVD of the movie beginning tomorrow.

In Chariot, “seven strangers wake aboard a passenger jet in mid-flight and find themselves unwitting participants in a government evacuation program. As a seemingly devastating attack unfolds on the U.S. homeland, the passengers learn they have been chosen to be saved because of their unique skills and/or political connections. But from the beginning, the plan appears to be ill-conceived and for those aboard things quickly go from bad to worse.”

Russ Join Vitals

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Tim Russ has joined the cast of Vitals, a Saw-like horror film.

Russ will portray “The Surgeon,” in the film, which will also feature Charlene Amoia (How I Met Your Mother), Christopher Showerman (George of the Jungle 2), Claudia Wells (Back to the Future), and Sachin Metha (The Advocate). Marc Morgenstern will direct the film.

Kurtzman And Orci May Redo Romero Cult Series

If everything works out, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Joe Hill, will be part of The CW’s makeover of George A. Romero‘s Tales from the Darkside.

Tales from the Darkside was a weekly half-hour anthology series that included tales from the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres. It aired in the early 1980s.

Abrams: The Future’s Not Today!

J.J. Abrams has a pet peeve when it comes to TV or movie stories set in the future.

The Star Trek into Darkness director gets annoyed when writers use phrases or actions in their futuristic stories that will not be used in that future time frame being shown, but are only relevant today.
