September-October 2013 Trek Conventions And Appearances

There will be eighteen conventions, shows or appearances in September and October that will feature actor of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

September begins with the Salt Lake Comic Con, to be held September 5-7 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. In attendance at the Salt Lake Comic Con will be William Shatner and Dwight Schultz.

Behind The Scenes Of Star Trek Into Darkness

Several clips have been released featuring some of the behind-the-scenes content from the forthcoming Blu-ray release of Star Trek into Darkness.

The clips show how the Enterprise set was designed to make it seem more realistic for the actors, and how the Enterprise’s set was transformed to create the set of the other Federation starship captained by Admiral Marcus.

Star Trek Into Darkness Blu-ray Problem

For fans eagerly awaiting the Star Trek into Darkness Blu-ray release, a lack of bonus content might make them unhappy.

It’s not that there is a lack of extras, but that getting all of the extras would require many different purchases of the same product from different retailers.

Trek And World War Z

Two summer blockbuster movies, Star Trek into Darkness and World War Z, will be offered as a double feature beginning this weekend.

The movies will screen together at select AMC and Marcus theaters, Carmike and Regal cinemas and other participating theaters nationwide in RealD 3D and 2D.

Trek Parody To Play In Manhattan

Saldana Sisters Partner With Lionsgate

Zoë Saldana and her sister Cisely have signed up with Liongate’s Pantelion Latino studio.

The Saldana sisters via Saldana Productions, will “develop projects for Hispanic audiences,” with Lionsgate bringing in an executive to “oversee the company.”

No Crimson Peak For Cumberbatch

Last spring, Benedict Cumberbatch signed on for Director Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak, but word comes today that Cumberbatch has backed out of the project.

Crimson Peak is a “turn of the century…gothic romance with ghosts.”
