Lindelof: The Leftovers

1 min read

A new HBO drama pilot co-written by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta is based on what happens after the Rapture takes place.

Based on Perrotta’s book of the same name, the story will follow those left behind, in a world that will “never be the same.”

Actors who have signed on to star in the project include Justin Theroux as Chief of Police Kevin Garvey, Christopher Eccleston as a former minister, Carrie Coon as wife and mother Nora Durst, Amanda Warren as a town mayor, and Ann Dowd as the leader of a local chapter of the Guilty Remnant, a cult-like movement.

The Leftovers will be produced by Warner Bros. TV, with Lindelof as executive producer/showrunner, and Perrotta, Ron Yerxa, Albert Berger, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey also executive producing. Berg will direct.

  1. I won’t pick on Damon Lindelof for this one. It sounds like a funny, interesting idea. What could go wrong – they run into the cast of Lost? Oops. I said I wouldn’t do that.

  2. But in a startling plot twist, they turn out to really be on the set of a post-apocalyptic reality TV show controlled by hack writers!
What? I never said *I* wouldn’t pick on him.
