New Shatner Album In Progress

1 min read

A new music project from William Shatner will include music from Billy Sherwood, formerly of the rock bank Yes.

Shatner’s last music project was 2011’s Seeking Major Tom, which also included a Yes alumnus.

In this latest project (as-yet-unnamed), Shatner will be writing the lyrics and Sherwood will provide the music.

“He has so many great lyrical ideas already; it’s amazing,” said Sherwood, who found Shatner’s lyrics to be “really good, deep and spiritual.”

Sherwood enjoyed collaborating with Shatner. “We sketched out the framework of the entire record in one sitting,” he said. “It’s going to be a very unique and artistic venture. He and I sat at a table in his home, batting ideas around for a good few hours.”

TrekToday will provide more information on the release date as it becomes available.

  1. Well, I’m pleased that this sounds more like Has Been than Seeking Major Tom… Has Been is really great, but Seeking Major Tom missed the mark badly. Not early 70’s Shatner music badly, but bad… This sounds better. If you haven’t checked out Has Been, do, I think most people would be surprised at how personal it is. Good stuff.

  2. I have heard that this is so. I should find time to do so. Wasn’t Has Been produced with Ben Folds?
