His manager is actually called Wesley.

No, seriously (I made it up originally, but then read the article)

My agent, Wes, came out to set and sat with me while we waited....

No, he's suggesting that Wheaton is a liberal. To be honest, he might be, I don't really know. I try not to read news articles that feature opinions from actors... Has anyone ever met an actor? The difference between the ones you know and the ones you idolize is success... nothing more... So, if you generally think the actors you know in person are flakes, it's probably pretty reasonable to conclude that most of them are flakes, regardless of their individual opinions or positions. I, too, am a conservative, but I certainly cringed over Clint Eastwood this summer...

In the end, everyone has a right to an opinion. Just because Wil Wheaton is an actor doesn't mean he has to give up his right to be a vocal American. What fans need to realize and remember is that these people are real, they have lives and opinions, and those opinions are, in no way, more valid than your own... So, I'm sure there are a lot of opinions you and I have that would piss off any number of other people... We still have them. They still have theirs. It's a beautiful country that enables people with different opinions on major items to coexist peacefully.
Because he's an actor doesn't make his opinion worth more, but it shouldn't make it worth less... and he's an actor who plays roles... I learned a long time ago to divorce my entertainment from their politics... And while it's true that Wheaton has been more known as himself for the last decade than any performances, the simple solution there is to stop clicking on articles about Wil Wheaton. Problem solved.

Anyone else find it ironic that Wil Wheaton used the phrase "Shut up"?

I am puzzled. The Ford Escape is racist? I don't see how, as it barely qualifies as a vehicle.
People have been calling Wil Wheaton names because he drives a shitty car? Is that what you're talking about?

I don't believe Mr. Wheaton is much of a fan of the right, and in particular of anything that could actually be electorally effective for the right. Standard kit for Hollywood, of course, but Mr. Wheaton, much like others, has--if my memory serves--been somewhat blunter of his views. I won't bother with links, and if I am wrong, I do so ever deeply apologize. When you get called racist by star after star merely because you won't support their man, it's hard to keep them all sorted out. But I don't think I'm too terribly wrong.

But if course, Ford won't take much of a hit for this, nor will Mr. Wheaton's "standing" change, one way or the other. But it is all very irritating at times. Perhaps I should have gone for that Outback I had been leaning towards when I bought the Escape. Oh well. As Thucydides said, "The Progressives of Hollywood will do as they will, the weak will suffer as they must." Or something like that.

I thank the purveyors of this site for the site. It is a public service. I say this, because I am about to say this--I've enjoyed the names Mr. Wheaton has called my side of the aisle. I'm sure this commercial will be warmly recieved in all the right-thinking places, but I doubt I'm going to enjoy it.

I once again thank the propietors of this site.
