What was asinine was the fact that Berman and the former staff at Paramount took ‘way too many trips to the well’ with the Star Trek franchise, recycled almost the same old storyplot(different episode), and let one of the Seven Deadly Sins become a key motivator in the distribution of Star Trek. Loosley translated, they let profit blind their better judgement and virtually said to hell with content and quality. Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise being examples of such less content and lesser quality.

The only thing Rick Berman injected into Star Trek was instant death. Frankly, the son of a bitch should have moved on to something else.

Breathe… and if you don’t think Rick Berman injected life into Star Trek when he took over, that says a lot about your perspective. Did he get old and tired and should he have moved on? Obviously, but to suggest he didn’t bring anything to the table is pretty asinine.

FFS, this anti-Abrams bullshit is as old as dirt, itself. Give the man a chance will you?! Unlike Berman, Broughton, Bednar, Bailey, and Mignogna, Abrams did breath life back into Star Trek.
