Engage!

A typical Star Trek: The Next Generation convention cast photo op turned out to be anything but typical when a Trek fan unexpectedly popped the question to his girlfriend.

During the Austin Wizard World Convention, which took place at the end of October, Wil Wheaton was present and described what happened. “I had the flu,” he said, “and almost missed this photo session…I sat there and smiled for everyone as best I could.”

New Trek-Themed T-Shirts

More t-shirts featuring the original series art of Juan Ortiz have been released, joining the eight shirts previously announced.

The shirts formerly announced include: Dagger of the Mind, The City on the Edge of Forever, The Ultimate Computer, The Way to Eden, Charlie X, The Balance of Terror, And the Children Shall Lead and Wink of an Eye.

Original Series Soundtrack Celebration

La-La Land Records will mark its tenth anniversary with a celebration to be held at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood featuring the new Star Trek Original Series Soundtrack Collection.

The celebration will include the screening of two classic Star Trek episodes following by a special discussion featuring Trek composers and writers.

Locke & Key Film Trilogy

Although Locke & Key, produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, did not survive as a television series, a film trilogy is now in the works for the comic book adaptation.

In Locke & Key, the Locke family moves into Keyhouse, the Locke family mansion in Massachusetts, where the Locke children find supernatural keys that unlock doors in the house that transport them to different worlds and grant special powers.

Cumberbatch To Join Monty Python Project?

Star Trek Into DarknessBenedict Cumberbatch is in talks to join a Monty Python comedy project.

The project, Absolutely Anything, will be directed by Terry Jones and feature voiceovers from Monty Python alumni as well as from Robin Williams.

Star Trek Into Darkness In Dolby Atmos

When Star Trek Into Darkness releases next May, the “latest technical achievements in cinematic storytelling” will “deliver a new experience to audiences.”

The movie will be released in Dolby Atmos, according to Dolby Laboratories, Inc. and Paramount Pictures.

Siddig In Da Vinci’s Demons

Star Trek On Hulu

Abrams: The Villain And Some Lucky Fans

Star Trek TNG S2 Blu-ray Release Update

More details have emerged about the Blu-ray release of Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, formerly reported here.

The Blu-ray TNG set will be released on December 4, and includes the highly-anticipated extended cut of The Measure of a Man.
