Sir Patrick Stewart Donates Costume

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Sir Patrick Stewart has donated a costume worn in a play to help fundraising efforts for a Yorkshire Monastery in his hometown.

Born in Yorkshire, the actor has connections to the Community of the Resurrection monastery, having performed there as a boy it its open-air Quarry Theater.

Masterson In Vienna Series

Last week, Trektoday announced that Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Chase Masterson would voice the character of Vienna Salvatori on the Doctor Who: The Shadow Heart series which will be released next month.

Now it has been announced that Masterson will voice her own audio series, Vienna, continuing the adventures of the “impossibly glamorous bounty hunter Vienna Salvatori.”

Quinto In The Glass Menagerie

Quinto will join Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolder, Brian J. Smith and Cherry Jones in the play.

Takei On Five-0

Star Trek‘s George Takei will guest star on an episode of Hawaii Five-0.

Takei will play the uncle of Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) in the episode. The uncle will “provide the team with information that helps them win the case.”

Hawaii Five-0, which airs Mondays on CBS at 10 PM, is currently in its third season. Takei’s episode will air in December.

Burton NoH8 Rainbow

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s LeVar Burton has submitted another photo to the NoH8 campaign.

NoH8 is a campaign to raise awareness and to raise funds for gay rights causes, which includes the campaign to end California’s Proposition 8, a ban against gay marriage.

De Lancie: What Made Q Tick

John de Lancie explained what he liked about his The Next Generation character Q, and what he felt worked best for the character.

De Lancie put his own particular brand on the character beginning in the pilot. “…The only place that [director] Corey [Allen] and I had a difference of opinion … is that Corey wanted Q to be straighter than I thought he should be.”

Visitor: Deep Space Nine Has Staying Power

As the twentieth anniversary of the debut of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine approaches, Nana Visitor shares her memories of the show, beginning with her unusual approach to her audition for the role of Kira Nerys.

From the beginning, Kira Nerys was meant to be a strong woman. “What was described to me was that this Bajoran woman was highly aggressive and very spiritual,” said Visitor. “I came in with the situation that was written in the pilot [Emissary and that’s what they liked. They wanted the aggression that I brought. From there, she evolved in seven years.”

Trinneer: Revisiting Star Trek: Enterprise

Star Trek: Enterprise‘s Connor Trinneer is in London for this weekend’s Destination Star Trek London convention, and he took time out to talk about playing Trip Tucker on the show.

One of the things Trinneer liked best about working on Enterprise was the different challenges he faced as an actor in the show, and he preferred the later years of the show. “From an acting standpoint, I always think that the first and the fourth years, for me, were really satisfying,” he said. “I really loved doing all four years, though. The great thing about the show was that for me, for the actor, it threw out a bunch of different things that I was asked to do, and for the most part they were a lot of fun.”

McFadden To Star in New Trilogy Of Plays

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Gates McFadden will be the headliner for the readings of three new plays at the Getty Villa in Los Angeles.

The three plays are the Vesuvius Prophesies: Deus Ex Machina, Clytemnestra and The Rosy Fingers of Dawn, written by Tom Jacobson and directed by Michael Michetti.

Yelchin In Romantic Comedy

Star Trek‘s Anton Yelchin will join Diane Kruger in the romantic comedy 5 to 7.

In 5 to 7, set in New York, an aspiring novelist has an affair with the beautiful wife of a French diplomat, where “cultures, world views, personal ethics and dietary preferences clash as love deepens.”

Star Trek Online Season Seven

Braga’s Back!
