Star Trek into Darkness‘ Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in a new biography about Brian Epstein former manager of The Beatles.
The focus of the movie isn’t Epstein’s view of The Beatles, as might be expected, but Epstein himself.
Epstein was the manager of The Beatles until his death from a drug overdose in 1967.
The Epstein movie screenplay has been written by Todd Graff, and the film will be produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Simon Halfon.

There will be seven conventions, shows or appearances in November and December that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.
November begins with Central Canada Comic Con, which will be held Nov 2-4 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, In attendance will be Sir Patrick Stewart and Walter Koenig.

Vulcan, Alberta, Canada is looking to rebrand itself in hopes of keeping the next generation from leaving the small prairie town.
That rebranding will include building on Vulcan’s Star Trek theme.

Star Trek Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew is appreciative of her Star Trek fanbase and unlike some Trek actors, is grateful for it.
Mulgrew has had nothing but good experiences with her Trek fans. “For me, [the Star Trek fans have] been systematically and categorically respectful, pleasurable, and a privilege,” she said. “I would say the fans have treated me nothing short of beautifully. I have never had a problem; I have never been insulted; I have never been assaulted. I’ve always felt like it was a dialogue and an important dialogue.”

Late news has come that Trek Director Winrich Kolbe passed away in late September.
Kolbe, aged seventy-one, had resigned his post for health reasons back in 2007 to return to California. He had been working as a professor of Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis will be seen in Castlevania: Hymn of Blood, a new webseries.
Castlevania: Hymn of Blood, based on the world of the game series Castlevania, is the story of hero Simon Belmont and his battles against Lord Dracula and Dracula’s army of darkness.

Heather Langenkamp, best-known to fans for her role as Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street, has a small role in next year’s Star Trek into Darkness.
During an interview regarding her new documentary, I Am Nancy, the actress admitted that she will be seen in the Star Trek sequel. “Well, I had the opportunity to play a small part in Star Trek, so I’m looking forward to that,” she said.

In this evening’s Tricks and Treats episode of American Horror Story, Star Trek‘s Zachary Quinto will be returning, but not as ghost Chad Warwick.
“No, there’s no ghosts this year,” said Quinto. “And all of us that are coming back to the show from last season are playing totally different characters, which is one of the most appealing aspects of this season for me. To be able to explore totally different landscapes with these characters is really exciting.”

Star Trek fans showed up in costume at a Star Trek convention last weekend to help break the world’s record for largest-ever gathering of people in Star Trek-related costumes.
It was only two months ago in Las Vegas that fans gathered in costume and broke the last record, but it appears that the Destination Star Trek London fans have surpassed that number.

666 Park Avenue, a new ABC drama directed by Star Trek: Voyager‘s Robert Duncan McNeill, has avoided the chopping block with an order for new scripts by ABC keeping the show alive.
The supernatural drama began airing on Sunday nights, and its three episodes thus far have averaged 5.6 million viewers per week.
