I really wish you people would lay the hell off of J.J. Abrams. You’re only proving how foolish, ignorant, arrogant, and close-minded you really are by making such statements. If you think Polaris is wasting his or her time, you’re wasting your time posting about Abrams and his career in such a very rotten way.

And as far as the links that Polaris provided is concerned, you can either choose to look at them or not. It’s the same with Abrams and his work, be it Star Trek or something else.

The fact is that those issues were made public and it has spread over time.

Without posting links that nobody will click on, if you have something to discuss, discuss it. Vague shadowy innuendo without actual accusation rings pretty hollow. I’m not following your links because, quite frankly, I couldn’t care less what some petty fanboys have their panties in a bunch over… however, if you’re going to drone on and on about the subject, at least reveal what the subject actually is… Right now, several folks are hijacking virtually every story’s comments to talk about this… whatever the hell this is. So, if you’re going to be ignorant and prattle on, at least provide some context. What did Farragut Films do to anger some of you so badly? I’ll give you 3 sentences to explain it. If you can’t handle that, then I suggest you shut up about the subject… Either discuss it, or don’t… but snide offhand references, constantly? No thanks.

It’s very easy to judge Star Trek XII-you look at Abrams’ body of work, which is exceedingly poor. One successful show – Lost, which was a bland shotgun of The Prisoner & Twin Peaks – mostly over the top visual extravaganzas filled with narrative cliche which generally underachieve. This is known as a pattern. Star Trek XI fitted perfectly within that sorry oeuvre; & all the desperate special pleading has made it clear that Star Trek XII will be more of the same only denser

(Note that i’m not even talking about the body of work from Abrams’ leading collaborateurs, which is as bad as the masters)

You have a problem with people not wanting to pay for this. Tough. & unlike you, i didn’t cut & paste the exact same message on multiple messages just to look good

Polaris01313-1 does make some valid arguments. I, too, have seen what has been posted in those links that he provided.

Having read them, I can honestly say that I, too, am disappointed and disgusted by such immature BS. Obviously, the people
behind Star Trek Continues are doing this just to be spiteful and vindictive.

And that’s a shame.

No, I don’t work for a competitor free Star Trek fanfilm. If I were ever that lucky, it would definitely NOT be with Farragut Films.

How can you judge the upcoming Star Trek film, without having seen one shred of film footage? Just because some of you didn’t like the 2009 film, that doesn’t mean that you should condemn the sequel based on that. Ever hear of the phrase, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’?

While I have never seen Grant Imahara’s performances, I would like to think that he would be intelligent enough not to work with a group of malcontents and their business partner who made some controversial and questionable acts during the past year. Acts that have put them in a very bad light with many other Star Trek fans. Obviously, that is not the case.

Once again, certain Star Trek fans in the Trek Community show their dark sides of fandom by unnecessarily slandering J.J. Abrams, his efforts and showing support to some fan-film people who clearly practice the entire opposite of Star Trek’s morals and values.

Sadly, the human condition hasn’t improved for the better. That’s a braindead mistake.

Abrams didn’t bring life back to Trek – he buried it with his thundering, mind-numbing lumber of cliches. The only reason anyone when to see Star Trek XI was Nimoy – a bit unfair to Pegg, who has some talent – & without him, Star Trek XII Into Bankruptcy, will die a miserable death. Noone wants it, least of all the Trek community which continues to watch the shows & real movies with an increasing doubt that they’ll ever seen anything else which reflects true Trek values on screen

That’s where the fan films came in. Real scripts, often with popular, talented performers – i’m seriously looking forward to seeing the steampunk Mythbuster Grant Imahara play Sulu in a way i’ll never give a damn about Cho – & made strictly for the hell of it & not because a bunch of talentless accountants thought they may be able to gouge a few more bucks from the sucker market. These films – & the new Tim Russ – are Trek in ways that Star Trek XII: Into Bankruptcy will never be; & the fact that you pretend this isn’t true tells everyone you’re the shrill you pretend not to be. Farragut has faults – we all do – but he’s the future of real Trek; not some braindead commercial mistake

@Mike : Believe me, I don’t work for Farragut Films. I am NOT in the habit of working for a bunch of liars and crooks. And, no I was not hired by J.J. Abrams and his corporation. Instead of ignoring the links that were provided and making pre-assumptions, you should read the other links and then make your own conclusions.

And while I am at it, I think you people should cut J.J. Abrams some slack. He did bring life back into a dying franchise. If anything, how about thanking him instead of slandering him? If anybody is being a dupe or a troll, it is you people who clearly have no respect for Star Trek and what ideals it really stands for.

I guess I’m confused… I don’t follow those fan films. I never heard of them doing anything to slander Trek, and the links you posted don’t seem to explain it… which makes me wonder if you weren’t hired by Abrams and Co, but rather by these Farragut Film folks to gin up some controversy and have dupes like me actually click on a link… Either way, I read the first article, which I’d mostly seen before, and, when nothing of note was there, decided to ignore you as the troll you decry, but clearly are. Enjoy… being ignored.
