Benedict Cumberbatch, the mystery villain of Star Trek Into Darkness, won two awards at the 16th TVChoice awards last night.
Both of Cumberbatch’s awards came as a result of his work on the BBC’s Sherlock.
Cumberbatch won one award for Best Actor, and another for Sherlock, which won for Best Drama Series.

Star Trek: Renegades, a new production aimed at bringing Star Trek back to television, has begun production on a professionally-produced television pilot.
The show, which will feature familiar Star Trek actors as well as newcomers to the Trek world, claims to be “bold, edgy and a little dark.”

The jersey features art from the original series including the USS Enterprise.

Star Trek 2‘s John Cho will be seen on Go On, a new NBC comedy.
On Go On, Cho will portray Stephen, Ryan King’s (Matthew Perry) boss and closest friend. Stephen is an “ill-equipped, less-than-evolved male,” who “mandates therapy for the recently widowed Ryan,” and then “struggles to provide support as Ryan learns to cope with his grief.”

The Koenig Star ceremony is the highlight of a two-day celebrated held in Hollywood during the 46th anniversary of Star Trek.

TrekMovie is reporting that the second Star Trek J.J. Abrams movie has finally been named.
Paramount is not confirming the title yet, but “this is the title they are going with as of now,” sources told TrekMovie.

Forty-six years ago, Star Trek debuted on television, and today, Google is honoring the show with a special graphic doodle on their website.
The Star Trek Google doodle began at midnight EDT and will run through September 8.

J.J. Abrams has sold another pilot and this one is about robot cops.
Set in Los Angeles, the series will be produced by J.H. Wyman and executive produced by Wyman, Abrams and Bryan Burke.

According to Zachary Quinto, Star Trek 2 will be even better than Star Trek XI.
“It was bigger,” said Quinto, referring to Star Trek 2. “It was bolder, I think, than the first one, and that was pretty big and bold from my stand point.”

William Shatner has been sued by two of his former long-term employees.
The employees, Oscar and Delmy Alfaro, had been employed by Shatner for twenty-years, Oscar as a handyman and Delmy as a housekeeper.

Michael Dorn, best-known to Trek fans as the Klingon Worf, would like to get a Captain Worf Star Trek project going.
Dorn thought about the idea due to his fondness for Worf. “I had come up with the idea because I love the character and I think he’s a character that hasn’t been fully developed and hasn’t been fully realized,” he said.

According to Chris Pine, Star Trek 2 will not be “like the original but darker.”
Star Trek will be taking its own direction, not following that of another recent franchise reboot. “We’re not making Batman,” said Pine. “That is not our deal.”
