Krige Joins Thor

Alice Krige, best-known to Star Trek fans as the Borg Queen introduced in Star Trek: First Contact, has joined Thor: The Dark World.

Thor: The Dark World follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.”

Stewart In Hunting Elephants

Two Trek Actors In Funny Or Die Skit

Sir Patrick Stewart and Simon Pegg join Game of Throne‘s Maisie Williams and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte in the latest offering from Funny or Die.

The short video is titled “The Olympic Ticket Scalper,” and features Stewart as “the godfather of scalping tickets.”

Star Trek: Infinite Space Game Cancelled

Fans waiting for the release of Star Trek: Infinite Space will have to find another game, as the free-to-play Trek game has been officially cancelled.

The cancellation is not totally a surprise, as the game, set to debut last fall, was delayed and in addition, developer Gameforge laid off one hundred employees.

Shatner At Dodger Game

Last week, William Shatner introduced the lineup of the Los Angeles Dodgers at a game between the Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs and then threw out the first pitch.

Dorn Kickstarter Project Launches

Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine‘s Michael Dorn has started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a romance comedy, Through the Fire.

The Kickstarter campaign began yesterday and has already raised over $12,000 towards the $750,000 goal, which Dorn hopes to realize by October 5.

Star Trek Online Not Dying

Cryptic Executive Producer Dan Stahl made an appearance in the Star Trek Online community to address rumors, including one that the online game is in trouble.

One poster started a thread that claimed that “Cryptic is in a really bad place right now,” and that thread drew the attention of Stahl.

Trek Shirt Sold For Almost 100K

A shirt worn by William Shatner in the original series commanded a high price at a recent auction.

The Profiles in History July auction featured Hollywood props and memorabilia and in the collection were twelve Star Trek-related items.
