But it’s our choice to buy it in any format. Having never bought it in VHS or DVD because the quality was so poor I am more than happy to pick it up for the first time on BluRay.

No, I really just don’t see the point of buying something I already own again, besides as nice as it might be for the younger fans. The remastering is not the way I remember it.

Maybe some people like myself prefer to see TNG in it’s ORIGINAL unmolested format.
(OK that was a rant, sorry)

Although my point was if they can’t even produce blu-ray discs with the basic formatting correctly, why would you trust them with a TV series we find dear to us.

The other thing to ponder is that they are not doing it for the fans, just as a means to sell people the same product yet again….. Remember first VHS, then DVD & now Blu-Ray… in a few years when the next new format comes out the will try to sell it again.

The set is great and worth it for any fan of the series who hasn’t purchased it before. Heck, even if you have, it may be worth it.

I was hesitant, but now that I have the set, I know the purchase was totally worth it. I saw the comparison pictures, but I had NO IDEA how great it would look on my HDTV. In a word, excellent.
