Star Trek: Voyager’s Robert Picardo (EMH) has filed for divorce.
Picardo and wife Linda Palwik were married in October 1984 and have been married for almost twenty-seven years.
Picardo filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles last week, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the marital break up.
The couple has two daughters, aged twenty and thirteen.

In honor of The Next Generation‘s 25th anniversary and the Blu-ray release of the first season of the series, a special theatrical screening of two popular The Next Generation episodes will take place on Monday, July 23rd at 7 PM local time.
This screening will also support the Red Cross, with CBS making a public service announcement before the screening and making a financial donation to the Red Cross.

Ronald D. Moore (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager) will be adapting Diana Gabaldon‘s fantasy/romance/adventure Outlander series.
The Outlander books are a series of seven books that have sold over twenty million copies since publication began. An eighth title is due out next year.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Chase Masterson can be seen in a dramedy about fast food restaurants.
Masterson joins Judd Omen (Pee-wee’s Big Adventure) Justin Walker (Clueless), and Daniel Roebuck (The Fugitive) in Take Out. Take Out was written and directed by Seth Landau (Bryan Loves You).

For fans hoping for a third film in the “Three-Flavor Cornetto Trilogy” of films, there is good news today with the announcement that The World’s End will begin filming this autumn.
The World’s End will be directed by Edgar Wright and will star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

In an interview with TrekMovie.com, Star Trek 2 Co-writer Roberto Orci cleared up some information regarding some characters to appear on Star Trek 2 – well, perhaps.
Orci again debunked a rumor about the character to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and explained which characters played by actors new to the franchise would be portraying canon characters and which would not.

After last week’s revelation from Karl Urban regarding the role that Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing in Star Trek 2, the actor had an excuse for his loose lips.
Fans were not sure if Urban’s comments were true and a slip-up on the part of the actor, or just a bit of trickery and misdirection. But in a recent interview, Urban explained why he seemingly misspoke.

Mike and Denise Okuda recently answered fan questions regarding the forthcoming Star Trek: The Next Generation Blu-ray release.
The couple covered a wide range of topics, including their Comic-Con panel this week (which took place earlier today), the cinematic screenings of The Next Generation (Where No One Has Gone Before and Datalore), commentaries, extended editions and lost footage, repairing errors, the possibility of Deep Space Nine in HD and the Okuda’s thoughts on just what Star Trek means to them.

This week, at the Comic-con in San Diego, fans got to see next year’s Hallmark holiday ornaments.
The 2012 Hallmark Star Trek ornaments will debut this weekend though, and include the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, An Extraordinary Meeting, and Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy.

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s LeVar Burton spoke about his time on The Next Generation, revealing that there was one aspect of the character that he wished had been explored more.
Star Trek: The Next Generation is in the process of coming to Blu-ray, and Burton has been able to see the first season episodes. The actor is impressed with the remastering of the series thus far. The picture looks “amazing,” he said. “They have redone all the visual effects, and it’s spectacular.”

Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine‘s Michael Dorn is now appearing in a production of William Shakespeare‘s As You Like It.
The actor, best-known to Trek fans as the Klingon Worf, will be taking on two separate roles in the play.
