Shatner’s Get A Life! To Premiere This Summer

William Shatner‘s latest film project, titled Get a Life! is set to premiere next month at Comic-Con in San Diego, to be followed by a late July broadcast on the EPIX Channel.

Get a Life! is the “exploration of strangers who have for years attended conventions…” and the film will reveal “a fun and touching side of the fanfare surrounding Star Trek, and examine the thrill of what’s happening at these fantasy conventions and the enduring popularity of the film and TV series.”

Kurtzman: The Purpose of a Sequel

Star Trek 2 Co-writer Alex Kurtzman explains what a sequel should do and also why there was a delay in making Star Trek 2.

According to Kurtzman, the reason for the delay was to make sure that the very best movie would be made, and that requires that it not be rushed.

Pine: Trek 2 Is Exciting

According to Chris Pine, Star Trek 2 will “knock people out of their seats.”

Part of the reason for that reaction will be the fact that Star Trek 2 has been shot in IMAX. “They are big cameras,” said Pine of the IMAX cameras. “They are big, loud cameras.”

GeekNation Offers Five Captains Video

The website GeekNation has posted the full video of the “Five Captains Panel” which was held recently at Wizard World Philadelphia.

The video, running almost a full hour in length, features William Shatner, Sir Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula.

Spiner To Join SyFy Series

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Brent Spiner will be returning to television with a guest role on SyFy’s Warehouse 13.

Spiner will be appearing on Warehouse 13 beginning on July 23, when the series opens its fourth season.

Star Trek 2 To Launch in IMAX 3D

Fans of Star Trek and IMAX will be glad to hear that Star Trek 2 will be released in immersive IMAX 3D format on May 17, 2013.

Star Trek 2 will be the second IMAX Star Trek release, following 2009′s Star Trek XI.

Yelchin Joins Vampire Tale

Star Trek XI‘s Anton Yelchin has joined the cast of Only Lovers Left Alive.

Starring Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and John Hurt, Only Lovers Left Alive is “the story of a centuries-long love affair between two star-crossed vampires.”

Only Lovers Left Alive is directed by Jim Jarmusch. The film will begin shooting this summer.

Hemsworth Proposed To Star In Whale Tale

Star Trek XI‘s Chris Hemsworth is set to star in In The Heart of the Sea, which is currently making the rounds of the studios.

Based on the National Book Award-winning book of the same name, In the Heart of the Sea was written by Nathaniel Philbrick. Herman Melville‘s classic Moby Dick was inspired by this tale.’

Bad Robot Options New Action/Thriller

Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot production company have acquired the spec script Wunderkind.

Wunderkind, written by Patrick Aison, is set in the 1970s and is the story of two Nazi hunters; one of whom works for the CIA and the other for Mossad. The two Nazi hunters are obliged to reluctantly work with one another.

Star Trek Game Introduces The New Gorn

Several days ago, the villain for the forthcoming Star Trek video game was announced, and today, players can see what the alien will look like.

One of the more painful aspects of the original series episode Arena, in which the Gorn was first seen, was the rather fake-looking Gorn, but in the new Star Trek game, the Gorn looks like a creature to be feared, not scorned.
