World Record Attempt at Las Vegas Official Star Trek Convention

1 min read

Another attempt at a new world record for most people in Star Trek costumes in one place will take place this summer at the Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas.

Returning to Las Vegas for its eleventh year, the Official Star Trek Convention will be held August 9-12.

Over seventy Star Trek celebrities will be in attendance, including four of the five Star Trek captains, including: William Shatner, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula.

At last year’s convention, over a thousand fans broke the Guinness Book of World Records record for most people in Star Trek costumes in one place. This year, the record will be challenged again, in response to word that other conventions are going for the record.

“Coming in costume really adds to the fun and we want the world’s record that was made in Vegas to stay in Vegas,” said Erin Ferries, VP of Creation Entertainment, producers of the Official Star Trek Convention. “Cosplay is a big part of fan convention going; last year we had many attendees coming in different costumes each day.”

The attempt to set a new record will take place Saturday, August 11. All ticketed attendees in full costume may participate.
