Not many octogenarians are on Facebook and Twitter, but Leonard Nimoy is, courtesy of his granddaughter Dani.
Like her grandfather, Dani is artistic and Nimoy’s Secret Selves photographs gave her an idea. “She was quite convinced that they’d look good on tee-shirts,” said Nimoy.

J.J. Abrams is batting one-for-two this week with the news that although his new show Revolution was picked up by NBC earlier this week, another show of his was axed by FOX.
Alcatraz was the story about inmates of the infamous prison who vanished in 1963 only to reappear in modern day San Francisco. The show was one of four canceled by FOX this week.
Low ratings did in Alcatraz, which launched with over ten million viewers in the age 18-49 demographics, but finished was less than half of that number.

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew is currently working on a new film, Drawing Home.
Set in the 1920s, Drawing Home is the story of Catharine Robb, who falls in love with a young painter from the mountains of Banff, Alberta, Canada.
Mulgrew will be playing Edith Morse Robb, Catharine’s artistic mother.
Drawing Home is written by Donna Logan and Markus Rupprecht, directed by Rupprecht and produced by Margarethe Baillou and Allan Neuwirth. The movie will be released next year.

Star Trek 2 has finished principal photography according to the tweets of several of the actors starring in the movie.
Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg both tweeted about the end of their work on Star Trek 2. “Wind, reel and print,” said Pegg. “The countdown to May 2013 has begun.”

Trek Nation, the Rod Roddenberry documentary, will be shown at San Diego’s Birch North Park Theater on July 12 at 7 PM as a kick-off to the San Diego Comic Con.
“Through exclusive footage and interviews with devoted fans, including George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, Seth MacFarlane and many notable Star Trek alumni, Trek Nation chronicles a son’s journey to discover his father and the creation that helped define modern-day science fiction.”

Revolution, a thriller by J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke, has been ordered by NBC for the 2012 Fall Season.
In Revolution, a family “struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.”
Written by Kripke and produced by Abrams, Revolution will be directed by Jon Favreau, and filmed in Atlanta.

In a “Sexiest Man” poll conducted by the UK newspaper The Sun, Star Trek 2‘s Benedict Cumberbatch walked away with the title.
Readers of The Sun preferred Cumberbatch by a two-to-one margin, and he handily beat runner-up David Beckham 7,115 to 3,393.

In what must surely be a fanboy’s dream, several Star Trek cast members made their appearance at a local Hooter’s in Northern California last night.
The actors were in town filming scenes for Star Trek 2 at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

For fans who did not attend the reunion of the cast of The Next Generation which was held in Calgary, Canada last weekend, a full video of the reunion cast panel has been posted online.
Over fifty thousand fans attended the weekend event, with the highlight of the convention being the TNG:EXPOsed event which took place Saturday evening and included the entire regular cast of The Next Generation.

Twitter posts from Leonard Nimoy seem to address the recent rumors regarding the actor’s possible appearance in Star Trek 2.
Recently, several rumors regarding the latest Trek movie have appeared on the Internet and one of the three rumors claimed that Nimoy would be reprising his role of Spock in Star Trek 2.
