Kurtzman And Orci Join Spider-Man

1 min read

Star Trek 2 Co-writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will be turning their talents to the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man will open this summer, and the sequel to it, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, will appear on movie screens in May of 2014.

Kurtzman and Orci will work on the screenplay for the sequel, as well as executive produce the movie.

“Alex and Bob have a unique ability to write great characters and spectacular action that makes them pitch perfect for Spider-Man,” said producer Matt Tolmach. “They have an exciting take on the franchise.”

Kurtzman and Orci issued a joint statement, saying “We grew up as huge Spider-Man fans so, to us, the opportunity to work on this film is akin to being handed the Holy Grail. We love the direction Sony and the filmmakers are taking the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythology.”

  1. AKA “utter lack of scientific understanding coupled with a refusal to do even the most basic research”.

  2. In Hollywood talk, this is actually a story about how they AREN’T inviting the writers of the current movie back. They aren’t coming back because they wrote the most awesome Spider-Man movie of all time? They don’t need the work?

I like Spider-Man, but this movie smells like it’s going to bomb worse than “Superman Returns”.
