Pegg To Guest Star On TNT Drama?

Star Trek XI’s Simon Pegg may guest star in the pilot of a new TNT drama.

The new drama, L.A. Noir, is a period drama about a cop working in “an era of rampant police corruption,” and would center on the 1940s-1950s “epic battle” between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker (Neil McDonough) and boxer-turned-mobster Mickey Cohen.

If Pegg signs on for L.A. Noir, he would join Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead), McDonough and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), who have already signed on for the project.

L.A. Noir will be written and directed by Frank Darabont (Walking Dead), who will also executive produce the series along with Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliot Webb (TallTime Tales).

Montgomery Graphic Novel To Debut At WonderCon

Star Trek: Enterprise‘s Anthony Montgomery (Travis Mayweather) will pre-launch his graphic novel concept Miles Away at WonderCon in Anaheim this weekend.

The sci-fi themed graphic novel features Max, a sixteen-year-old African-American superhero with super powers.

Crosby And Trekkies

After her time on Star Trek: The Next Generation as both Tasha Yar and Yar’s half-Romulan daughter Sela, Crosby wasn’t yet finished with Star Trek. She attended various Star Trek conventions which lead to the making of the documentaries Trekkies and Trekkies 2.

Attending those Trek conventions and talking to friends about some of the events at the conventions made Crosby curious about the fans, and what made them tick. “I was fascinated by the stories that I was hearing, going to different conventions,” she said.

Crosby: Did She Make The Right Choice?

After playing Tasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation for one season, Denise Crosby wanted out, but what does she think  today about her decision to leave the show?

At first, Crosby had high hopes when it came to Tasha Yar. “I always talk about a scene I had to audition with, that never made it on to film, and I never understood that,” she said. “That scene, to me, was what was so exciting and interesting about the character. She was really, deeply insecure and had this wonderful paradox going on. She was so physically capable and had this very strong persona, but inside was just this little girl that felt very much out of her depth. That was the scene that I had to audition with, and it gave me a clue to the character.”

Tiptons Talk Trek/Who Crossover

When it comes to a crossover comic series featuring Star Trek: The Next Generation and Doctor Who, Scott and David Tipton are confident that the fans will embrace it with open arms.

When offered the project, the Tiptons didn’t hesitate to say yes. “…when [editor] Denton J. Tipton and [Editor-in-Chief] Chris Ryall from IDW came to us and asked if we had any ideas for a meeting between the two biggest and best science-fiction franchises of all time, what else could we say? We absolutely leapt at the chance,” said Scott. “Just a look at my resume tells you how big a Star Trek fan I am, but I’ve been watching Doctor Who all my life, as well. And the revived Doctor Who of the last few years has been, at least for my money, consistently the best drama on television.”

Hemsworth As Hunt In Rush

The first pictures from Rush have emerged showing Star Trek XI‘s Chris Hemsworth as racing legend James Hunt.

Rush is the story of a rivalry between James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) for Formula One circuit dominance in the 1970s.

Koenig On Things To Come Series

Star Trek‘s Walter Koenig is not only an actor, but an author as well, with a four part Things to Come graphic novel series in progress.

Things to Come #1 has already been released, and the story includes something quite popular today, vampires. “These are vampires not quite like you’ve seen before,” said Koenig. “I’m proud of the work all around.”

Shatner To Guest Star On Psych Tonight

Star Trek‘s William Shatner can be seen tonight on USA’s Psych, where he will be reprising his “Frank O’Hara the con-man” role from last season.

Shatner appeared on Psych last November, in the In for a Penny episode, where he first played the role of the father of Juliet “Jules” O’Hara, a junior detective for the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Trump To Takei: You’re Fired!

Star Trek‘s George Takei is the latest celebrity to get the ax on Donald Trump‘s The Celebrity Apprentice.

Takei’s assigned job on the show was project manager, and his task was to lead a group of men in decorating a window at Lord & Taylor for Ivanka Trump‘s new fashion line. Another team, consisting of women, also decorated a window at Lord & Taylor’s and their window was deemed the winner.

Fox Cancels Terra Nova

After only a single season, Terra Nova, executive produced by Star Trek‘s Brannon Braga, has been dropped by Fox.

In Terra Nova, humans from a futuristic world traveled back to prehistorical times to escape a polluted and overcrowded Earth.

Saldana In Talks For Drama

Star Trek‘s Zoë Saldana is in early talks for a role on Scott Cooper‘s Out of the Furnace.

Out of the Furnace is the story of an ex-con who “must choose between his newfound freedom and avenging the death of his younger brother.” Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) has already signed up for the project.

March-April Star Trek Conventions

There will be six conventions, shows or appearances in March and April that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from four of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

March starts off with Wondercon 2012, which takes place March 16-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. In attendance at Wondercon 2012 will be Wil Wheaton.
