Believe me, I despise them with utter contempt, and for a lot of reasons. Hopefully their lies will come back to bite them on the ass! And you are right about them being a half-assed fan production. Especially when they have gone so low in their dealings with other fans and fan productions. All the more reason why Paramount should shut them down.

And, hey(those who hate the rebooted Star Trek), lay the hell off of Abrams, Saldana, and the new Star Trek films. If you don’t like them, then don’t watch them. As a long time fan of Star Trek, I enjoyed the film and how it was put together.

Seriously, you goddamned purists really have a bad habit of taking the fun out of things.

If JJ can’t handle a few leaks, maybe he should go back to directing mindless television for morons and keep his paws off of Star Trek. Leaks and spoilers are a tradition with this franchise.

‘Farragut’ was a starship in Trek canon long before it was a half-assed fan production. That is the only reason the USS Farragut was mentioned in the last movie, so please, keep your britches on.
As far as I can see, their “deal”, sport-o, is to claim credit and connections where they don’t have any, probably to increase their nerd-cred and lengthen their collective e-peen.
If you despise these people so much, stop furthering their purpose by bringing them up in every goddamn thread. It doesn’t get you sympathy or support, it just makes you look like an obsessive stalker.

Saying this is not Trek just shows how people are opposed to change. Of course it’s Trek. I loved the previous movie and I’m sure I’ll love this one too since it is Trek. I don’t mind change but still love the old stuff as well. Can’t get too stuck in the past,lol!

I cannot stand her dumb comments or her likeness to Bleh-yoncé. These new actors, for most part, only care about the fat paycheck…nothing more. There are excpetions, of course, but I cannot help but feel disconnected from this cast. But then again, it is what it is, and I will certainly watch it… *sigh*

While I agree with your sentiment, it is neither constructive nor worth it to argue about such things. Reading Star Trek: Countdown and Star Trek: Nero might allow you to better understand the connection. As a Star Trek for about 20 years (I’m 26), it pains me to see a “new” dumbed down Star Trek getting all the buzz. I rationalize it as a gateway drug to newcomers. Hopefully these new fans will become fans of the older, more real Star Trek that Gene Roddenberry created. Having said that, I do not find much meaning in Enterprise.

I wouldn’t surprise me if the Starship Farragut production had a hand in the taking of these photos. Since Michael Bednar ‘claimed’ that Farragut Films had a hand in the prequel/reboot, hence why Farragut was mentioned in the film, and then later got involved in that Starship Ajax fiasco last December, I’m beginning to wonder what their deal is.

@Ken It’s “JJ Abram’s Star Trek 2.” Calling it “Star Trek 12″ would imply that it of it’s predecessor where somehow part of the first ten films. They have nothing to do with any of the original movies. Still, using the “Star Trek” name at all seems rather generous. JJ-Trek is many thing, but “Star Trek” is not one of them. By the way, I’m happy JJ is mad. The man is the wrong guy to be in charge of something like this. The fan base will eat him alive if he keeps holding things back after 4 years of not working on anything “Trek” related.

I feel pressure to like and accept Saldana as Uhura and an actress. I think it would be easier to do both if she didn’t say things like describing Cumberbatch as “another yummy male actor on the set”. Could the men get away with saying something about the women co-stars?
