I have to agree that this nonsense fantasy of Bashir and garok being gay is getting old. I watched the series when it was knew and have all 7 years on DVD, NOT ONCE did the Garok-Bashir dynamic seem to have a homo erotic tinge to it, it was always as written, a savy black ops wetworker manipulating an eiger but highly intelligent novice.

In fact later in the series garok will at times express contempt for the good Dr and he makes it clear why he was so friendly, a desire to mombo with him was not the reason.

She's primarily interested in fantasizing about a version of Trek wherein there is no sexual interest toward female characters, because that makes her angry.

"I understand that respecting the cultures of others might stop Sisko and Kira from telling Quark off about this on a regular basis, but the fact that scantily clothed women in service professions remain a staple of his bar’s environment ... suggests that it’s still acceptable for humanoid males to demand female eye candy, whether they’re human or Ferengi or Bajoran or whatever."

Gosh, MEG, why wouldn't it be acceptable? Why do you think Sisko or Kira doesn't like this? Why would Kira patronize Quark's if she had a problem with it? Why do you think anyone cares, considering that the girls work there voluntarily? Why did you forget that the Federation doesn't exist to force its views on others or even to judge? What makes you think 24th-century Earth doesn't have scantily clad waitresses and such too?

I was with you... right up to the point when you, once again, needlessly started hoping for homosexual elements between Bashir and Garak. No thanks.

I'm not sure what you aren't getting... Bashir is heterosexual. He's interested in Jadzia and other women all throughout the series, culminating in a relationship with Ezri. Garak eventually falls for Dukat's daughter... you know... a female...

I'm really sick of the pro-homosexual agenda. If it's so natural, why not let nature do the work instead of trying to force homosexuality on non-homosexual characters and viewers? Bashir isn't gay. Garak isn't gay. Constantly (and multiple mentions within the first 15 episodes of your reviews is constant) bringing up your homosexual fantasies relating to these characters is repulsive... not because homosexuality is, in itself, repuslive, but because clouding sexuality is exactly that. If someone is gay, fine. Garak and Bashir aren't. Trying to force them to be gay, even in your own little world, is just as bad as trying to force characters and people that are gay to not be.

If homosexuality is as natural as you'd like to present it, then let it be that and quit trying to shove it down our throats.
