The ‘Countdown’ comic for JJTrek neatly ties in Next Gen with the new film. It also adds some slightly crucial backstory that realy should have been in the film, but was (stupidly) removed. It’s a decent next Gen episode, and B4, Picard, and others play their part before Spock screws the royal Vulcan pooch.

They should do another TNG movie and soon. Easy to bring Data back, after all, his mind is in B4. “First Contact” was great, “Insurrection” and “Nemesis” not so great. The mistake they made with these latter 2 movies is that they stepped outside the narrative thread of the TNG story, whereas “First Contact” fit perfectly with the narrative thread of TNG established by the TV episodes.

Do another movie that connects directly with something in the episodes. Q? Ferenegi? Dominion? The Traveler? According to the final TNG episode, Q was supposed to drop by from time to time. Well, let him drop by and make one awesome story.

If CBS or PARAMOUNT ever consider a new television series or film that takes place in the 24th Century with a younger cast, it would be great.

TNG and DS9 both got better with age. I could have watched 20 seasons of each. I thought both series ended too soon.

Personally, I thing a TNG era spinoff film would have been good, specifically on the Titan, possibly with Defiant in tow. That way you could slot in Nicky DeBoer as Dax and Alex Siddig as Bashir with Worf in command. It would also help to compensate for the loss of Data, and show life after the Ent E for the key characters.

If we do get a Star Trek The Next Next Generation, maybe Ms Sirtis could play a young Lwaxana Troi? I like to think Mrs Barret Roddenberry would have appreciated that idea.

There should be at least one more TNG movie. Just like TOS, the actors are getting older and the window will be lost.
