A new comic series from IDW Publishing and DC Comics, Star Trek Legion of Super-Heroes, will debut this week.
In Star Trek Legion of Super-heroes, the first of a six-issue release, Captain Kirk and his crew and the Legion of Super-Heroes will feature the two groups interacting in the 23rd century and the 31st century.

In what should be no surprise to anyone who has followed the career of the actor, Zachary Quinto has come out, revealing that he is gay.
His role of Louis Ironson in Angels in America as the boyfriend of a man with AIDS who cannot deal with the changes that AIDS has brought to their relationship was “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an adult,” said Quinto, “and the most rewarding.”

Fresh off of his appearance on The Big Bang Theory last night, Brent Spiner‘s voice will again be heard on television, this time in Young Justice.
Spiner will be voicing The Joker in the Revelations episode of Young Justice. Alyssa Milano (Charmed) will be voicing Poison Ivy.
In Revelations, “a series of attacks by plant monsters around the world triggers the Justice League into action. Their teenage sidekicks — Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, etc. — want to help in the fight but are instead dispatched to take out the Injustice League.”
Young Justice airs tonight at 6:30 PM on the Cartoon Network.

In his webseries Fresh Hell, Spiner is having a great time making fun of both himself and Hollywood.
“I did a project with a guy named Chris Ellis, who’s a director, quite by accident,” said Spiner, explaining how Fresh Hell came to be. “We wound up having lunch and I ran this by him. He thought it was a really fun idea and he said, “Let me talk to a friend of mine who’s a writer, Harry Hannigan. I think he’s the perfect guy to write something like this.”

For fans attending the New York Comic-Con, which begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday at the Javits Center in Manhattan, there were be plenty of Star Trek licensees in attendance showing off their products, plus several guests affiliated with the franchise.
The products to be shown include books, action figures, Bluetooth headsets, ornaments and busts.

Although Star Trek: The Next Generation has been off of the air for years, Brent Spiner has kept busy, with his recent work including a guest appearance on The Big Bang Theory and his work on his Fresh Hell Internet series.
Spiner will be seen on The Big Bang Theory tomorrow evening, along with Wil Wheaton. “It’s very brief,” he said regarding his role in the episode, where he plays himself. “It’s not even a cameo. It’s a cam.”

For Star Trek XI‘s Zachary Quinto, being cast as the smart guy in movies such as Star Trek XI and Margin Call works for him.
In Margin Call, Quinto plays a “hotshot rocket scientist-type” on Wall Street” who is the first one to see the 2008 financial meltdown coming. And in Star Trek XI, he was the cerebral Spock.

For fans who like Trek talk, IGN has started a new Star Trek-only podcast, Transporter Room 3, and the first half-hour episode covers topics from the first two televised series.
Transporter Room 3 is “not for the weak of heart” or for “anyone who is afraid of seriously obsessive geek-out sessions.” Indeed, in the first episode, one of the topics is “Which Riker do you prefer – transporter accident Tom Riker or bushy-bearded alternate universe ‘The Borg are everywhere!’ Riker.”
Other topics in this first podcast include William Shatner’s The Captains documentary and the forthcoming Blu-ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Star Trek: Enterprise‘s Scott Bakula will be the first guest in After Show with David Bedella.
After Show with David Bedella is a show that consists of “informal live interviews with television, film and stage personalities, as well as music performed by Bedella and his jazz trio. The evenings will be rounded off with an open mic session.”
Bakula will appear in the first show, which will take place at London’s Alley Cat Bar in Soho, on Thursday, October 13. The show runs from 10 PM to 3:30 AM.

Gwynth Walsh, best-known to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fans as B’Etor, one of two Klingon sisters from the House of Duras, is now starring in Cups, a play focusing on bras.
In Cups, a one-woman show taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Walsh portrays a woman who looks at her life through her bras.

For fans playing Star Trek: Online, in addition to Energy Credits, there is now another currency to help them obtain items in the game.
Energy Credits are “intended for the normal expenses of operating a starship, such as getting standard gear, and for trading between captains on the exchange.”
