Nimoy Retiring? Not Entirely

1 min read

Leonard Nimoy admitted on Twitter today that while he is hanging up his Vulcan ears as far as Star Trek conventions go, don’t be surprised to see him pop up on TV every now and then.

“Chicago Oct. 1&2 is my final con appearance,” he said. “I have promised a couple acting appearances which may still crop up. LLAP.”

Nimoy will be appearing in his last Star Trek convention in early October at the Official Star Trek Convention to be held September 30-Oct 1 at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Chicago. Other Star Trek actors in attendance will be: Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Nichelle Nichols, John de Lancie, Dominic Keating, Connor Trinneer, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and Arlene Martel.

  1. To quote Spock, “On that day I shall mourn” his retirement-but at 88 yrs young, he’s entitled.

  2. Nimoy is one of a kind. When he finally does retire, it will be a sad day for Trek fans everywhere.

  3. 80, LadySlopokes. Not 88. 🙂 But yes, the point is well taken. I am still hanging on to hope I might be able to scrape up a way to get to Chicago for this one.

  4. Leonard Nimoy, as Spock, has been one of my most favorites on the Star Trek series & movies. . . . .he taught me “logic” which I find to be most interesting!

  5. Mr. Nimoy, you are truly one of a kind. I wish I could have a chance to meet you one of these days, but I can only dream. Many happy wishes and I thank you for the joy you have given me.
