Shatnerpalooza Kicks Off

1 min read

Today, Shatnerpalooza kicks off on EPIX with the airing of four of the six original series Star Trek movies, plus six other movies and shows in which Shatner appeared, and William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet.

The movies begin at 6:00 AM with the airing of Star Trek VI: The Final Frontier and the day ends with the 10:30 PM airing of The Intruder.

The highlight of the day will be William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet, which will air at 8 PM, and is a documentary about legendary choreographer Margo Sappington‘s quest to create a ballet set to music from William Shatner‘s Has Been album.

“It was an odd idea when I was approached by Milwaukee to make the ballet, and then it seemed to me a good idea to record it on film,” said Shatner. “…lo and behold, there was this oddity that I titled Gonzo Ballet.”

A second airing of William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet will be at midnight, after The Intruder airs.
