Hemsworth In Talks For Rush

1 min read

Chris Hemsworth is in negotiations for the role of a race car driver in next year’s Rush.

Hemsworth has time in-between his Thor projects (a sequel to Thor, which was released in May, is due out summer of 2013) to take on new projects, and if all goes well, he will be seen as a British Formula One driver in Rush.

Rush is a drama that will be the story of a rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda for Formula One circuit dominance in the 1970s. Hemsworth would be playing Hunt.

The British Hunt was a Formula One World Driver’s Champion once (1976), with ten Grand Prix wins between 1973 and 1979, beginning with the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix and ending with the 1977 Japanese Grand Prix. Overall champion for the season is based on Grand Prix results.

Austrian Lauda had three championships under his belt (1975, 1977, 1984) with twenty-five Grand Prix wins from 1971-1985 beginning with the 1974 Spanish Grand Prix and the 1985 Dutch Grand Prix.

Rush is expected to film next year.
