(Only eight episodes have his character.) I have the DS9 DVD Set, and have watch all the episodes together, and have even bought the songs from his later released CD [This One's From the Heart (1999)]. I know a lot of Trek fans quite disliked this character, which they consider as a cop-out for a science fiction series. I think people tend to forget that this was at the time as the Doctor in Voyager - especially around the idea of the basic rights of holograms. At one time the producers were trying to get Frank Sinatra Jr. to do the character, and i believe James Darren was considered only because of his similar style and that his was generally related as the godfather of Nancy Sinatra's daughter.
