Wilde Joins Welcome To People

1 min read

Actress Olivia Wilde (House) joins Welcome to People, written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek XI), and Jody Lambert. The film will mark Kurtzman’s directorial debut.

Wilde joins Star Trek XI‘s Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks in the film, scheduled to begin production later this month in L.A.

Welcome to People is the story “of a struggling twenty-something man (Pine) who, after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father, discovers that the will stipulates that he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister (Banks) he never knew existed, and her troubled twelve-year-old son. Determined to keep the money to solve his own problems, he’s nonetheless fascinated by his unknown kin and makes contact with the two without revealing who he really is.”

Wilde will play Hannah, the girlfriend of Pine’s character, in Welcome to People, which is expected to be released in 2012.
