Dawson Wants A Trek Role

1 min read

Rosario Dawson, currently starring in Unstoppable along with Chris Pine and Denzel Washington, would like a part, even a small part, in the next Star Trek film.

The actress, a big Trekkie, is lobbying on Twitter for a role. “I love J.J. Abrams, and I’ve got a petition on Twitter about [how] maybe I could be in the next movie, like a Klingon or something,” said Dawson. “I could just make a noise or speak some Klingon. I would be happy, I would be very satisfied.”

Dawson has let co-star Pine know about her love of Trek. “I am a big Trekkie, which finally just got disclosed to Chris,” she said. “I’ve been trying to play it really cool and I had been pretty good at hiding it from him.

“He clearly doesn’t follow me on Twitter, because I’m pretty obvious about it. I was trying to play it cool with him, but now the cat’s out of the bag.”

According to Dawson, Pine was associated with Kirk, even while working on Unstoppable. “We would all call him Kirk behind his back and he really knew how to take those punches,” she said. “That was what is so genius about him.”
