Abrams To Produce Boilerplate

1 min read

Paramount has picked up the rights to the Victorian Age story Boilerplate and adding to his already busy schedule, J.J. Abrams will produce an adaptation of the story.

Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel, is an illustrated book by Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett that tells the story of Boilerplate, a mechanical man developed in the 1880s and unveiled at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.

Boilerplate was a prototype soldier built for “preventing the deaths of men in the conflicts of nations.” The Victorian Age robot fought alongside Pancho Villa and Teddy Roosevelt, but vanished at the end of World War I.
