Hemsworth As Thor

1 min read

Artwork featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor wielding his hammer has appeared online.

Hemsworth, best-known to Star Trek XI fans as George Kirk, father of James T. Kirk, will be seen as Thor in the upcoming movie of the same name next year.

Hemsworth as Thor, the Norse god of thunder, wears black and silver, and sports a red cape. Thor is holding a rather large hammer, named Mjolner, which glows blue and will no doubt be used in battle.

Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh (Hamlet) and starring Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston as a love-interest, Odin and Loki (the villain of the piece) respectively, will open on May 6, 2011.
