Hemsworth Aussie Award

Chris Hemsworth, best known to Star Trek fans for his role in Star Trek XI as George Kirk, the father of James T. Kirk, is one of two Australian actors to win a Breakthrough Award.

The Breakthrough Awards, organized by the Australians In Film association, are designed to recognize the achievements of stars from Australia who are carving out careers in the American entertainment industry.

Hemsworth and Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), will received their awards at an awards show to be held in Los Angeles on May 13.

Previous winners of the award include Sam Worthington, Mia Wasikowska, Isla Fisher and Abbie Cornish.

Hemsworth will be seen in the superhero movie Thor, which will release next year.
