Cho: Trek A Dream Job

2 min read

John Cho, currently appearing on ABC’s FlashForward as FBI agent Demetri Noh, is looking forward to working on the next Star Trek movie.

While promoting FlashForward, which has just returned from hiatus, Cho spoke about filming in Los Angeles for FlashForward as well as working on Star Trek. “What’s been great about filming in L.A. is just getting to relearn my city because we’re shooting on location so much,” he said. “For instance, we shot in Pacoima and, oddly enough, it’s a place I’d never been to. That was cool. We’ve been shooting in Japantown a little bit, and I always like going to Little Tokyo and eating in Ramen spots.”

Cho may be have an action-filled life as Noh and Sulu, but in real life, he considers his life normal and even a bit dull. “I think I lead a spectacularly dull life, I’m sad to say,” he said. “It’s mostly work and family and really a few friends. But, the flipside is what is extraordinary about my life, and it’s really just the privilege of the job that I have. Otherwise, I feel like it’s very banal.”

Some of his friends were made during the filming of Star Trek XI and Cho can’t wait to start on the sequel. “I am greatly looking forward to returning to Star Trek,” he said. “It was a dream job. It was a blast being on the Enterprise. The set was so cool. Working with J.J. [Abrams] was fantastic. What I look forward to most about the experience is just getting together with my friends again and working on something. We hang out, but there’s nothing quite like working together with your friends on something. It’s a very special feeling. And, that is a special project and a special franchise, so I just look forward to the camaraderie of getting together on the Bridge and hanging out with my friends and working on something we like.”
