Shatner At Olympic Closing Ceremonies

1 min read

Last night, the Olympics ended with a closing ceremony and Canadian-born William Shatner was part of the entertainment.

Famous Canadian performers were part of last night’s entertainment, including Michael J. Fox, Neil Young and Shatner. The performers told the audience what it meant to them to be Canadian.

“My name is Bill and I’m proud to be a Canadian,” said Shatner. “My pride is as immense as this majestic country that hosted these 2010 games.

“[We are] a people who know how to make love in a canoe,” said Shatner, as a picture of a rocking canoe sailed by overhead on the screen. He then joked about the Canadian health care system “covering splinters.”
