Star Trek XI On BAFTA Long List

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced its long list of nominees for their 2010 awards and Star Trek XI has received ten nominations.

The first round of voting for BAFTA, the equivalent of the UK’s Oscars, has reduced a field of two-hundred-and-twenty films down to fifteen nominees in each category.

Star Trek XI and/or its actors was selected as a nominee in ten categories:

  • Best Film
  • Adapted Screenplay
  • Make Up & Hair
  • Special Visual Effects
  • Sound
  • Editing
  • Costume Design
  • Production Design
  • Cinematography
  • Supporting Actor – Zachary Quinto

The second round of voting has commenced and the field will be further winnowed down to five movies per category.

The winners of this year’s BAFTA awards will be announced at the Orange British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Opera House in London on February 21, 2010.
