Star Trek XI Nominated For Producers Guild Award

Star Trek XI was one of ten films nominated for Best Produced Motion Picture by the Producers Guild of America.

Following the lead of the Academy Awards, the Producers Guild doubled the number of films nominated for the best produced motion picture from five films to ten.

Traditionally, the films that the Guild selects usually end up being what will be seen on the list of Oscar nominations, which is due out February 2.

Science fiction films took three of the ten nominations, with Avatar and District 9 joining Star Trek XI on the list of nominations.

The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures list of nominees includes:

  • Star Trek XI
  • Avatar
  • District 9
  • Up
  • Inglourious Basterds
  • The Hurt Locker
  • Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire
  • Up in the Air
  • An Education
  • Invictus

The 21st Annual PGA Awards will take place on Sunday, January 24th at the Hollywood Palladium.
