Kurtzman And Orci Nominated For WGA Award
Posted by T'Bonz - 11/01/10 at 05:01 pmThe Writers Guild of America, whose selections often agree with those of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has released their list of nominees for Adapted Screenplay.
Co-writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman were nominated in the Adapted Screenplay category for their work on Star Trek XI.
Adapted Screenplay Nominees:
- Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman for Star Trek XI
- Scott Cooper for Crazy Heart
- Nora Ephron for Julie & Julia
- Geoffrey Fletcher for Precious: Based on the novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire
- Jason Reitman, Sheldon Turner for Up in the Air
Kurtzman and Orci released a statement after the announcement. “We’re friends who started writing together 20 years ago, so to be honored by our peers for a story about friendship is an amazing gift. We’re wildly grateful to all the closet WGA Trekkies for their sci-fi love.”
The winners of the WGA awards will be announced February 20, at a gala ceremony at both the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theater in New York City.
