More details have emerged concerning the options for Klingon gameplay in Star Trek: Online.
Klingon gameplay is one of Star Trek Online‘s most unique features. It exists as an additional advancement path for players, and offers different gameplay options to players more interested in player-vs.-player (PvP) combat.

Atari and Cryptic have released a new trailer featuring Zachary Quinto, who has done voice work for Star Trek: Online, as well as details on Klingon gameplay and screenshots.
Quinto is shown doing some of his voice work. “My personality matrix combines qualities of more than twenty physicians, scientists and counselors, including Admiral Crusher at Starfleet Medical, Ambassador Spock,” he said. “I am, quite frankly, the most advanced piece of technology on this vessel.”

Comcast customers can watch Star Trek movies through January 13, while fans of the original series can watch episodes from all three seasons for free by going to Fancast.com.
For fans looking for something to watch while at home during the holidays, if they are signed up with Comcast, all eleven films plus Galaxy Quest will be available via Comcast’s On Demand system.

Comic fans who own PSP systems will be able to purchase comics from a variety of publishers, including IDW Publishing, which publishes Star Trek comics.
Digital comics are now available through the PlayStation Store. Initially, five hundred and fifty comics, including some Star Trek titles, will be offered, with more to be added each week.

For Zoë Saldana, working in Avatar meant more than just learning her lines.
James Cameron‘s Avatar, a 3-D science fiction movie releases this week, and Saldana plays Neytiri, a blue-skinned alien warrior, a role for which she has been preparing since 2006.

Zachary Quinto, best known to Star Trek fans for his portrayal of Spock in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek XI, will voice a character as well as a tutorial in Star Trek: Online.
Star Trek gamers have one more reason to play Star Trek: Online now with the news that Quinto will be the voice of an Emergency Medical Holiday in the MMORPG.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the fifteen semi-finalists for the Oscar’s Best Visual Effects category.
Star Trek XI has made the first cut, joining other blockbusters from 2009 such as Avatar, 2012 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for consideration.

J.J. Abrams and author Colum McCann are negotiating to work out a deal to produce McCann’s latest novel, Let the Great World Spin, which was published in June.
If a deal is worked out, McCann will adapt the screenplay of his National Book Award-winning fifth novel, which would be produced by Abrams at Paramount.

Making movies that he would want to see is only natural for J.J. Abrams, because he considers himself part of the audience.
The Internet is useful to Abrams when it comes to gauging what works in a movie and what doesn’t. “The great thing about getting a consensus because of the Internet is it allows you to really hear what the audience is feeling,” he said. “It’s a wonderful tool to understand what’s working and what’s not working. Because I do try and work on the kinds of projects that I want to go see, I don’t feel like my audience is any different from my friends or myself. I feel like I am those people.”

Michael Dorn, best-known to Trek fans as the Klingon Worf, will be joining other actors to voice Mass Effect 2, the second act of an award-winning science fiction trilogy.
Dorn joins Martin Sheen (The West Wing), Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Saddam), Seth Green (Austin Powers), Yvonne Starhovski and Adam Baldwin from Chuck, Keith David (Crash), Tricia Helfer and Michael Hogan from Battlestar Galactica, and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
